Disposable Society

The Round Peg is preparing yet another important project. Despite being quite small, the team should go in double figure this time, and the theme will be very controversial.

"Disposable Society" will be about the role of women in the Italian society Fabiana and I know very well. In the last 20 years Italian women has been depicted more and more as empty shells to be used and disposed of as they were junk. In the televisions it is normal to see beautiful, almost-naked women unable to articulate a complex sentence and treated as objects, and if once this was limited to late night shows, nowadays these shows are broadcasted at every time of the day. The vision of Italian woman, shaped by the media, is a vision of a empty, replaceable beauty. This vision makes young generations to dream of becoming a "velina" (common name of these television starlets), not of becoming a new Montalcini. This is untrue and unfair, and it is shaping a country based on the sole appearance. Watching this from the outside is unacceptable and it diminishes the role of women in Italian society all around the world. Disposable Society will play on that, but I do not want to spoil the surprise (or the shock): I will keep you posted!

This time in the team we will have three photographers, one stylist, one fashion consultant, one hair stylist and five models. We are still hunting for the right makeup artist, but we are sure we will find a great one very soon. If you want to join us, if our style is what you are looking for in one of your ideas/project, do not hesitate to contact us! we are on the lookout for great minds to share our experience!
