Be flexible While working as a team there must be clear roles. Maybe it is because of my background in technology and project management, but I try to give responsibility to the various members of the team, drawing boundaries. On this matter Fabiana usually says, half joking, that I am a "control freak", but we have seen that it works. It is equally important, though, to be flexible and during this session we had the confirmation of how much this can be important for the good outcome of a project: In the plans Zuzana should have had overseen just the makeup, while Fabiana should have been in charge of the art direction of the session; nevertheless when the models arrived, Zuzana shown a fantastic proactive approach with the entire artistic part. She seemed to have a better vision than the rest of us, so Fabiana and I decided to trust her judgements making her, de facto, our Art Director. As you can see Zuzana did a fantastic job in merging the model's dresses, directing the rest of the styling and suggesting few other details. This is teamwork, and these are the result you can achieve with such a synergy in the team. We love Zuzana's work, her professionalism and her reliability. Something old something new... While Zuzanna and us have worked together many times, for Donessa, the hair stylist, was the first time. When I received her first email I was immediately hit by her enthusiasm. She is moving her first steps in the world of photography and despite the lack of a portfolio to show her works, I had a good feeling about her and I called her in. I couldn't have done a better choice. Donessa has been fantastic: quick, precise and great in her field. Moreover she demonstrated an incredible passion and professionalism. Last but not least When we picked the models, two amongst almost a hundred who applied to the casting call, we made a bet. From one side we had Ka, dark skin, very tall and curvy, from the other we picked Rebecca-Louise, pale skin and petite. The title of the project was "Fashion Contrasts" in the end, but it is always risky to put together such different styles! Ka and Rebecca were, this needs to be told, fantastic. They warmed up pretty quickly and they trusted me and Fabiana completely. While behind the camera we felt a connection, something that happens to us only when we trust the models and they trust us. This project was a success and we are happy of the result. Just a little bit to look back at the photos and we will jump on another project! Meanwhile... enjoy the show!
