Fashion in the streets of London

Walking the streets of London with a camera with me gives me the possibility to capture not only some incredible moments, but also some people who, in a way or in another, drive the idea of fashion from the bottom up.

One of the most interesting streets to walk to gather the contrast between this kind of fashion and the one driven by the big names is, without any doubt, Old Bond Street. The shops full of the last collections from Armani, Dolce&Gabbana, YSL, Gucci and many many others clashes, from time to time, with the incredible sense of fashion some people have. Not always these people are able to convey a "wow" factor in the way they dress, but they are always dressed "on the edge". We suddenly become spectators of a huge catwalk where different styles clash together, different attitudes find spaces on pavements full of contradictions. It is fantastic to document this.

I haven't always felt "welcome" in Old Bond Street. More than once I had the clear feeling of being seen as a "paparazzi", thing I am not, and therefore followed by some very skeptical pair of eyes in my slow paced walk, but I feel this is the price to pay, and honestly it is not very high.

Obviously another good hunting ground to discover the latest high street fashion is, undoubtedly, Oxford Circus. With shops like Top Shop, Zara and many others, young generations drive the trend in the street fashion with something that, despite taking inspiration from the big brands of fashion, go clashing against them in a direct comparison.

    i am not sure whether it is man or woman but there is definitely fashionable touch to this. interesting article on the blog – and i guess this area is good for this sort of assignments but other than that i found not much happening there compared to lets say nearby soho
