Photography Workshops: you never stop learning
Last Saturday I have been lucky enough to be one of the people following
Edmond Terakopian's open workshop in London (you can find Edmond's blog, Photo This & That,
here). It was a very good experience indeed.
I have known Edmond for a year now, things for which I feel extremely lucky indeed, and I always like his approach to photography. Apart from his photos, which alone can open my mouth in a sort of adoration, I think that his passion for photography is something that have to be seen. He is not a "9 to 5" photographer and despite admitting that being a professional photographer means shooting not what you love, but what you have to, he still has that incredible sparkle in his eyes when he talks about what he loves.
The Workshop was focussed on his approach to photography and photojournalism, the way he sees the world of photo and the one of post production. One of the most important things he told during the workshop, or at least one of the most important things for me, was about how to tell a story through a set of images. It is something I am still struggling, and to date I have possibly failed to produce.
I believe that being in a Workshop can give you a different point of view and that you will never stop learning if you listen to other photographers' visions. So my advice is to go and follow one, two, a hundred, and if you can, stay focussed to be able to participate in another from Edmond: it was a great experience!
PS: The images you can see have been taken during the day, following Edmond's suggestions and, for being taken is a short span, I have to say that I am happy about them!

It gives great separation!
Super shot of a family on parade!
Cool pic, so full of life!
I agree with the concept of a story Carlo. The image must be compelling. Photojournalism…difficult life at times, his results are incredible stories
Shame i could not make this workshop! I like the angle here!
Sounds like a very interesting workshop. cool family portrait.

Awesome take, nice perspective, sharp too.
Very nice shot, Carlo. Great to see you again at the workshop.
It’s a great photograph; really well done spotting it and getting such a nice shot. Like I told you, the second I saw it, I knew it must be yours – it has a "Nicora Feel" to it
Everything is so sharply focused in this photo. Glad to see your candid street work, still.
Hope all is well with u an Faby.
