Accepting advices

I am a perseverant person, I am well aware of this. My capacity to stick to a cause and to an ideal is both one of the causes of my successes as well as my failure. "I live, I learn" The other day I was showing a different version of this photo to a friend, one of those people I esteem. When he saw it, in black and white, he expressed some positive judgement on it, things that, truth must be told, made me happy. He then asked me to see the original photo and underlined the fact that, in his opinion, it would have been better seen in colour. Things take time to sink in and I let few days go by without realising I was thinking about it: "my" black and white or "his" colours? For a while I have been tempted by publishing my versions, but suddenly I stopped and decided to revert the edit to the one he suggested. ...and I quite like it. No, I am still not convinced 100%, mainly because of the contrast in the colours of the panties, but I accepted the advice, and the photo works.
Advices should not be accepted every time they are given, treating them more like impositions, but they should be analysed. From time to time an advice can clash with some pre-concept we have and accepting it would mean admitting a sort of mistake. Well, I like to accept a mistake, as understanding it makes me stronger.
