Behind the Polyboards: First Step towards Tom Ford

Welcome back to our Behind The Scenes. I hope you will enjoy the few images stolen from last Thursday session.

Fabiana and I have long been interested in Tom Ford's style. He is not conventional, sometime over-provocative, from some aspect even excessive, but we love his photography. What we have always though, and still think, is that to achieve some sort of photos you need to posses a great confidence, or being incredibly cheeky, two traits we do not have or we have to foster a little bit.

So, in order to test something different we decided to try something similar to the controversial designer's style. We want to know if such type of photography is for us, if we like to do it and if we would have fun doing it.

So you have two main challenges to overcome: one is finding the right model for the role, not everybody fits the requirements, and the other is to direct them to get the type of photos we wanted. On our first attempt I have to say that we succeeded in both, finding some great models and managing to direct them to the first level of controversy we were looking for.
