Editorial Stories: Boudoir meets Lifestyle

September 7th, 2010

Mixing and merging different styles of photography is always very interesting and challenging. This time we mixed our Boudoir, almost commercial, with Lifestyle. The result was not perfect, but for being the first attempt, it was great!

The results

I don't think Fabiana and I are perfect, but what we like to do is to work hard and try new approaches to our photography style. As it usually happens, not everything turns out as it should. This photo shoot was exceptionally difficult, because we were mixing our Boudoir style to something more towards lifestyle. The point is that when you work...

Seeking fashion writers and creatives

September 1st, 2010

The Round Peg approach to fashion wants to be wide, not just photography, but an all-rounded vision embracing a young, fresh and internet-oriented vision. Are you the right person for it?

When I look around, seeking for an inspiration, I have to dig deep to find something I really love, and usually it is something very fresh, innovative and created by people who are not afraid to let their creativity flow. When I look back at The Round Peg I see something that is growing, but that still is not at the level I want to bring it, and sadly this...

Fashion Shows Backstage: we love the Vibe!

August 27th, 2010

Being in the backstage of a fashion show is something exciting and energetic and capturing those moments, in the midst of the turmoil of hair, makeup, shoes and clothes, is an electrifying experience.

Yesterday we had been invited to participate to a small fashion show in London. Three up and coming designers were showcasing their recent creations at the Whitehouse venue in Clapham, and we had the possibility to walk the backstage doors and capture those intense moments that precede the catwalk. It was great to see so many creative people rushing to make something special.

The event was the eagerly awaited...

Editorial Stories: Camber Sands

August 17th, 2010

Put together a fantastic team, a great location and a strong teamwork and the results cannot be anything but superlative! This is what we did few weeks ago in Camber Sands!

The Style

There are times when you know exactly the theme of a specific photo shoot, while some others it grows dynamically the more great professionals you bring in. This was an example of how a dynamic and clear growth can bring great results, mixing together different styles.

Initially we decided to do a very simple shoot on a beach using some denim. The idea was to have a very simple editorial...

Lifestyle Photography: a road ahead

August 10th, 2010

As the time goes on, our photography evolves, finding new inspirations and leading us where we haven't been before. Lifestyle is a genre I personally love, but it proved to be complex, at least if you expect the result I do.

My perception of photography is ever-changing and I like it in this way. The more I progress, the more I look around to find the real inspiration for our future. Fabiana and I have different approaches and different loves, and this is really exciting, especially because we share our passion and we create our style based on both the visions....

Shaping America: Our Workshops in the States

July 15th, 2010

The series of our "Shaping" Workshops is gathering so much interest that we are planning an expedition to the East Coast of the States, probably in New York. Are you interested?

Many of our contacts from the US expressed interest to participate to our workshops, but one of the sentence that I have heard over and over again is:
"If only you could hold few of your workshops here..."
So we have decided to do a serious reality check on the possibility of holding some of our workshops in New York.

Currently we are gathering interest from those who could be interested in...

Shaping Street Workshop in July

July 13th, 2010
Forget the technical stuff, forget the papers you can study on, Street Photography is inside every photographer and it is probably the hardest workshop I have to teach.

Teaching lighting or model management is something relatively easy. I have time to explain and my students have the time to understand and follow directions step by step; it is a controlled environment and it is more focussed on what you need to know to start stepping up the ladder of photography. Teaching street photography for me is much more like trying to develop a certain feeling inside photographers, show them one way...

PhotoTherapy

July 8th, 2010
Sometimes life is not easy and is full of stressful events that can unbalance your photography. A good Friend of mine told me that to re-gain your inner balance you just need to grab your camera and walk, forgetting every thought: Edmond call this PhotoTherapy.

These months have been extremely busy and our photography has moved to a more coordinated level, gaining a proper team of incredible individuals, but at the same time putting at risk the spontaneity of our approach, the communication we want behind what is becoming our brand, and this is a risk that we cannot take.
As...

Shaping Lights on the 25th July

July 5th, 2010
The season of our photography workshops in London is more alive than ever. The next one-day class on lighting and model management will be on Sunday 25th of July and some places are still available!

Our one day basic course is targeted to those photographers who want to move their photography skill to a more advanced level, using studio flashes and learning how to deal with models or even normal subject. The style of the Shaping Lights has always been friendly, informal and informative.
The course is divided in two parts, the initial one will be focussed on the theoretical knowledge...
