Have you ever seen those powerful, sometimes black and white photos that were able to document the real life of the streets from all over the world?
Have you ever witnessed something happening in front of your eyes, wishing you had the ability to capture “that” moment?
Are you in love with the diversity you see in the people around you, being unable to take the camera to your eyes and take that candid picture?
If so, you probably need to tweak your hands and your mind at a more “street” level and you might find this course in street photography a mind opener!
What will you learn from this workshop?
At the end of the “Shaping Streets” workshop you will have all the tools to go on the streets of your city and grab those fantastic and unique moments that happen in front of your eyes.
You will learn to document what your eyes see every day, but your camera cannot capture… yet.
And it will be a lot FUN!
What are the prerequisite for this workshop?
The only thing you need is the interest in photographing the city you live in and its people. The willing to walk a little bit will not be a bad idea as well!
What does this workshop cover?
We believe that “Practice makes perfect”, therefore we have structured our four hours workshop in street photography in two parts, one theoretical and one practical.
- Gears: The camera you have in your hand is a powerful tool to document reality
- You: Psychology of street photography
- Street Photography: Candid vs Posed
- Lights and Shadows: why they are both important and how to use them
- Rules of Photography (and how to bend them)
What to bring
This workshop has a practical approach therefore the best thing you can bring along, apart from your brain and your attention, is your camera. If your DSLR comes only with a kit lens, I would suggest you to buy an inexpensive 50mm f/1.8; both Canon and Nikon have a cheap one.
